Dutch side table or lowboy with two drawers and wavy stretchers on bun feet. The top has a decorative wavy top and the whole piece is veneered in burr amboyna This wood is usually only used in inlay or cross banding but this table is veneered in its entirety in this rare timber. Burr amboyna was one of the most expensive woods and, being part of the Padauk family, it comes from Indonesia. The name comes from the island of Ambon, on of the Indonesian archipelago. Altogether a very decorative and interesting side table.
It has later brass but in keeping with the original.
