Simon and Penny have been in the antiques trade since 1980. They ran a shop just north of Cambridge and soon began to specialise in early oak and country furniture.
They loved of scouring the country in search of quality furniture and quickly established a reputation for supplying the trade. Simon was an experienced restorer and Penny became the researcher.
After 28 years, Simon and Penny moved from the east to the far west of Cornwall. They restored and converted an old barn into their home where they also have a holiday let which is tastefully furnished with antiques and Penny's art.
But they couldn't quite crush the flame of collecting and now deal from their Cornish home outside Penzance. It is no longer necessary to drive to the far corners of the country in search of fine furniture and they now buy selectively from online auctions. They don't get it right all the time but there is always something exciting around the corner.
Why waste over 40 years of experience and knowledge when they can give pleasure to others and have fun at the same time?

During their first few years in Cornwall Penny trained in oil painting in St Ives. She began a new career began and is now a well established artist.

The Rumbles also have a holiday cottage on site which has over an acre of garden.
