A 17th century walnut marquetry chest of drawers from the William and Mary period, 1689-1702. It has an ogee moulded top with original toffee colour patina. The border is inlaid on the top and the front has decorative floral panels of marquetry inlay. Each drawer showing a different pattern. All the drawers are oak lined and the sides are polished oak.
The brass handles are later but they are of period design and fixed in the original holes.
The bracket feet are also original so the whole piece is in excellent condition for its age. It is an extremely decorative piece of furniture that would grace any home.
